How it feels to be a woman

Being a woman in the 21st century is a good thing women are finally starting to get treated equally just as a male would be treated.women are becoming world leaders and starting to have more important roles in the government. Examples of female leaders are the president of Argentina Kristina,Fernandez also Evelin,Widmer from Switzerland these are just some  examples of our many female leaders. Women have fought for equality for a long time and have accomplished many great things such as having the right to vote also having rights just like men do. Women are often seen as weaker than men but that's wrong some of the worlds female leaders are women who have helped their countries into great prosperity. Their is still much more to fight for, to have the total equality as men do for example men get paid much more than women. Women make 78 cents for every dollar a man makes, woman with color have a even greater gap. Something should change so that all women no matter what should make the same amount of money  men do. In the past women have fought much for us to have the rights we have, so for that reason we should not give up and fight so that we receive the equality men have. Like the right to become a female president of the united states.  The coming up elections Hillary Clinton is attempting to become the first female president in the history of the united states  hopefully this happens it would be a great success for women,to show that women are as qualified as men are to lead a great country such as the united states is. Women are capable of doing the same things men do so for that reason should be treated with the same respect men get.

Winter Break

    This passed winter break was very fun and exciting for me, I had amazing experiences. winter break was 3 weeks long. one of the most memorable experience's was spending lots of time with my family for the holidays. My family flew in from Mexico to spend the holidays together. I spent my Christmas at my uncles house were all my family gathered together to spend it . New years was similar we spent it at my house all my family came over the food was delicious I loved it . Another memorable event was going to six flags with my cousins. I enjoyed going on the roller coasters the only bad thing was it was too cold to be waiting in line  so we left the park earlier than usual. Another experience was going to San Pedro port where they make the best sea food .one of my favorite foods their is the shrimp cocktail.  The only bad thing  was that the weather was terrible it was really cloudy and started raining which caused us to leave. This winter break is one I will remember for years to come because all of the great family times I had.

The Crucible

 The novel the crucible takes place in the year 1692 in Salem, Massachusetts. in the town of Salem witch craft is the worst crime possible if someone is suspected of witch craft they would be put on a trial and if found guilty of the crime would get killed as a way of forgiveness for invoking the devil.
  the story is based mainly on the life's of john proctor and wife Elizabeth proctor.one day reverend hale comes to the proctors home to tell them that their wives have been arrested soon officers of the court arrive suddenly and arrest Elizabeth for suspicion of witch craft after finding a needle in a doll for this its assumed Elizabeth proctor is a witch.at the trials john takes Mary to tell the court that what their saying is a fraud to prove that Elizabeth doesn't practice witch craft. Abigail and the girls pretend that Mary is bewitching them which causes Mary to break down and accuses john of being a witch. The trials in autumn arrive and john is asked to admit to witch craft which he does to get his freedom back but when asked to put his signature on a paper to be posted on the church s a forgiveness he refuses to because he says that he already gave his pride up but that that he couldn't give his name up too. Since he refuses to sing the paper he is sentenced to die with the other accused "witches". They all get hung ending the witch trials.

Nuclear Energy

          Nuclear energy is a topic in which not much people agree on today I will be discussing the facts in favor of nuclear energy and the facts against. In which hopefully will help you understand the topic. I will be starting with the facts in favor of having a nuclear power plant.
       nuclear energy powers 13 % of the worlds electricity. Is used in more than 30 countries around the world the good thing is the nuclear power plant emits little to no greenhouse gases. In case a nuclear power plant was opened they would close every 18 or 24 months to remove the uranium fuel which becomes radioactive waste.
       I will now will be pointing out the opposition facts against having a nuclear power plant. The waste from nuclear a nuclear power plant waste can last for 100,00 years and can affect humans and all living things . Accidents at nuclear power plants can happen in case that happened many innocent people would get poisoned by radiation. Another threat that nuclear power plant can cause is that terrorist can cause accidents this is a great worry for our national security.
     My opinion on nuclear energy power plants is its a good source of energy for now but later on in the future will be of harm to humans and affect us more than it has helped.

                The book I will review is “If I Stay” written by Gayle Forman. The book is about a seventeen year old named Mia Hall in which she talks about an out of body experience after falling in a coma after a car accident in which all her family dies . Mia watches all her memories flash by she must decide if it’s worth wakening up from her coma and living a difficult life or slipping away and die. Mia decides she will fight to live and stay with the people that love her even if he family is gone loved this book although I can’t even imagine what I would of done in her place.

       I would of liked if the author wouldn’t of left her all alone in the book Forman made it seemed like her brother  Teddy was going to live but her brother ends up dying I think if he would of survived it would have been much easier for her to decide if she wanted to live or die. but by her brother dying it devastated her more and she didn’t find a cause to live for before the brother dies Mia in her out of body experience visits her brother and tells him to be strong and that she will always be there for him but he dies . When Mia finds this out her brother has passed away she’s has no hope or will to live. One thing that I did enjoy when reading if I stay is that Mia has the love of her life with her supporting her and Mia knows that when she wakes up she’s going to have him by her side supporting her and to help her overtake the pain of the lost of her family. As well as she has her grand parents’ and best friend that will also be there for her and support her.

  In if I stay these quotes where the most meaning full to me . “I don’t know exactly what’s happened to me, and for the first time today , I don’t really care. I shouldn’t have to care. I shouldn’t have to work this hard. I realize now that dying is easy. Living is hard” [page 174-175] this quote says that Mia was feeling while she was in coma she really wanted to wake up to see her friends and family again , but on the other she wasn’t sure if she was really ready to face a more difficult life. She was almost ready to give up till her best friend and boyfriend visited her and told her how much they would miss her if she never woke up. Another quote is “It’s the hardest thing I will ever have to do. I summon all the love I have felt, I summons all the strength that gran and gramps and Kim and the nurse and willow have gave me. I summon all the breath that mom, and dad, and teddy would fill me with if they could. I summon all my own strengths focus it like a laser beam into the fingers and palm of my right hand. I pictured my hand stroking Teddy’s hair, grasping a bow poised above my cello, interlaced with Adams and then I squeeze.” [page 234] In the end of the story, when Adam was in Mia’s room, Mia spent some time debating whether or not it would be worth it to wake up to spend time with her friends and family again. But Adam’s words “Don’t make me write a song” helped Mia make her choice. Which was for her to wake up. Lastly the best quote from if I stay is “Sometimes you make choices in life and sometimes choices make you.” [page 152] which says that a choice is when you can decide between two or more things and you get to picking which thing you want and which route to go.

                 Sue Jozui believes that celebrities should not advertise products because by doing so they trick buyers into buying the products they advertise just simply because the celebrities on media claim to use the products of course the people just buy the products because they see the celebrities using them. My point of view is we choose what to listen to and also what to spend our money in.  So it’s up to us to decide if we want to spend our money on a product just because a celebrity advertises it on media. We should make a change by not buying the products at the end of the day the companies just want our money and their just using the celebrities as a way of catching our attention and making us want to buy their products. Celebrities should also make a change and should not be willing to get hired by these companies that trick us into buying their products. If we all stud up for this cause we would stop these companies from getting so rich with the money they take from us by tricking us into buying their products. 

My Autobiography

 

                                     

           My name is and I am seventeen years old I was born . I am the middle child in my family.  My family and I have always lived in Los Angeles. All the childhood memories I can remember are all very good. I have always been very close to my family. I am a high school student that attends Fairfax high school, and I’m a junior. After high school my goals are to become a successful fashion designer. I really hope to be able to accomplish all the goals I have set myself to.

    

     I am the middle child of five children , my  two younger sisters and I live with my parents  while  my two older siblings  don’t live with us anymore my oldest sister is 19 and my only brother is 21. I have a big family my parent’s siblings and me in total are seven siblings. Being the middle child can be very annoying at times because they expect a lot from me I guess it is also because am the oldest of their kids that lives with them so they know my  younger sisters in a way look up to me and what I do. I try my best and set the best examples for my younger sisters. One of my youngest sisters is 12 and attends Emerson Middle School the same middle school I attended, the smallest of my sisters is 7 and attends Saturn Street Elementary school the same school I also attended. My youngest sisters most of the time copy the things I do or say. For example if I say I want to go out with  some friends they’ll also say they want to go out with their friends and when my parents don’t let them they’ll say it’s not fair that I get to go out and they don’t .

    

       I am a junior high school student it is my third year in high school. Next year will finally be my last. They say high school is a place where you make friendships that will last for your life time. For me high school has been a fun place that I am sure I will always look back on and remember all the good memories and crazy things I have done. But high school is not all about fun, it can be a struggle for me to keep up with the classes and grades. I hope to be successful in the remaining time I have left in high school.

    After I have completed high school I wish to go to designing school. I am still unsure if I want to attend a school for design in California or out of state. Ever since I was little girl like about ten years old I knew that I wanted to become a designer. At ten years of age  my parents got me a notebook to draw and make my own designs in that notebook I would create dresses that I hoped one day I could actually make my dress designs and for someone to one day see my creations  and  want to wear my designs. I have never attended a fashion show but I wish to attend one sometime soon. Becoming a designer has been a goal for me  since age ten and I know that if I try my best and put effort into it one day I will accomplish it and become the fashion designer I want to be.

      

             I know that I will always count on my family and friends for support, I am very grateful for the people that surround my life. And I really hope to accomplish all the goal I have set myself for in life. I hope to one day look back at this  autobiography  and be able to say that I accomplished the goals I set myself  for.
